Sydney took a few weeks to warm up to the idea of bathtime, but now, she really enjoys it.

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Last week we ventured down to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to enjoy the nice weather and the pretty flowers.

It's Been A Busy Week

What a busy week it has been. A few highlights from the week for your viewing pleasure:

3 Weeks Old

As you can probably imagine, taking pictures each Sunday to document Sydney's 'week' birthdays is, in theory, a great idea, but one that proves to take a bit of time each week... The photo shoot must be timed to insure that our little sleepyhead is actually awake and not screaming for food.

I am also learning that her little personality is starting to show through, and this must be taken into account when planning our weekly photo shoots. For example, this past week, I learned that despite my desire to have a 'pacifier-free' 3 week photo, our sweet Sydney is somewhat stubborn :)

Beginning of the photo shoot....

The paci is in, and Sydney is happy.

Then Mom had to decide that a 'paci-free' photo would be better...

"You want to do WHAT with my paci?!"

Please note Sydney's hand gestures... for a little lady who can't talk yet, she sure made her thoughts about taking the pacifier out very clear.

So, of course, we took the pacifier out...

... and we got this reaction.

This was followed by a break in the photo shoot to calm Sydney down :)

And we finally got this:

3 weeks old

2 weeks old...

Time seems to be flying by... Sydney is already 2 weeks old. We went to the pediatrician last week for a weight check and were told that we have an 'over-achiever' on our hands -- little miss has regained her birthweight and then some. She was up to 8lbs 8oz! We knew she was eating like a champ, but didn't realize she was eating THAT well.

Other than that, we've been settling into a routine and spending time sharing Sydney with family and friends.... it's amazing how such a little girl, who just sleeps most of the day can keep us so enthralled =)

1 Week ago Today...

Our lives were forever changed in the most beautiful way!

The first week has been great; we are beginning to learn just how wonderful being parents will be! There has been a little sleep deprivation and a few tears; but a whole lot of JOY and LOVE as we work on finding our routine with Sydney.
