100th Anniversary

We went to Fenway for a game, but we also went back during their 100th anniversary celebration.  It was an open house of sorts and we were able to wander around the whole park.

We saw the famous red seat that indicates where the longest home run ball hit in Fenway landed.

We met Wally (well, a Wally statue).   Sydney was more than a little confused.

And saw Pesky's Pole.

We took a little time to practice learning our letters:

And spent some time up on the Green Monster.

We even got to walk out on the field. Sydney kept trying to play in the dirt on the warning track. As someone near us commented, it was like she knew it was 'special dirt.'

It was like Christmas morning for someone. And Sydney seemed to enjoy herself too. :)

USS Constitution

Sydney was VERY excited to see the Constitution, aka Old Ironsides.  She walked around for days talking about the "ship."

5 years

Dan and I celebrated our 5th anniversary in April by spending the weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine.

We stayed at a lovely little bed and breakfast and spent some time exploring the town, getting massages, and just generally relaxing.

Our B&B: the Captain Lord Mansion.

We wandered down to the Marginal Way in Ogunquit and walked along the ocean:

We even drove past (and, yes, stopped and took pictures of) Walkers Point, the Bush's compound.

Easter 2012

My parents came up to visit with us over Easter.  We had a low-key day and spent some time walking around the Public Garden.  Sydney had visited with the ducks before, but Easter was different as the Mallards were all decked out in their Easter Bonnets.

Sydney enjoyed playing with her Easter baskets and all of the new toys that she got from the Easter Bunny.  She loved shaking her eggs and finding the ones that made a loud noise when you shook them, since those were filled with M&Ms rather than just stickers.  And like any little girl, she had to immeadiately try on her new shirt and 'sunglasses.'

Little Lady wasn't allowed to eat any of the chocolate though, as she caught some sort of stomach bug that left her throwing up all afternoon/evening (and for several days afterward).  Poor thing.
As a side note, nothing can make you move faster than when your child, who's been throwing up for a few days, stops playing with her toys, looks up at you with a sad face and says "uh oh.  sick."

Welcome to Atlanta...

We're back!

Its been a whirlwind around here for the past few weeks, as evidenced by the lack of blogging.  We packed up and drove back to Atlanta.  We've been back for about a week and are starting to get settled in.  The trip went well as well as could be expected and other than being completely exhausted, we all seemed to make it through unharmed ;)

As we continue to unload boxes and get 'set up', I'm taking advantage of an unexpected morning nap by Sydney to get a little blogging done.  Expect to see some catch up posts over the next couple of weeks as we get you all up to speed on our last weeks in Boston.
